In the process of installing Vista on a new machine, the system rebooted and failed before entering Vista for the first time. After the POST checks I get an error message saying:
JMicron Technology Corp. PCIE-to-SATAII/IDE RAID Controller BIOS v1.06.59
?Detect drives done, no any drive found?

I have installed the latest BIOS revision (which also updated the JMicron BIOS version)

The SATA ports on the board are arranged as follows
Top L-to-R 5 (red), 2 (red), 1 (red)
Bottom L-to-R 6 (red), 4 (black), 3 (black)
My hard drive is connected to the SATA 1 port and my DVD drive is connected to SATA2.

I am not sure what BIOS settings I need when not using a RAID configuration. I have tried the IDE Configuration setting set to 'Compatible' and ?Enhanced? with no joy.

This appears to be a common problem - is it a driver issue? If so, any advice on how to resolve it would be appreciated.

Your SATA HD AND DVD should be connected to the bootable SATA, BLACK not red.

Also If you don't use RAID do not use the JMicron driver.
