Hello,

I tried flashing my Asus p5b with the Asus update (Yes I know I shouldn't have) -tool, it gave me an error and after trying again it gave me an error. So I booted my computer, it gave me an another error message about BIOS and having to recover it, so I used the Asus CD to recover the BIOS, which worked to the point when it asked me to reboot my computer.

After turning the power off and on, my PC starts up for a split second, turns off and turns on again after 3-4 seconds. But now I can't get a signal for my monitor nor a BEEP. Also when usually starting up my GPU fan is at 100% for few seconds then slows down, now it just keeps going on at 100%.

Specs:

Asus p5b
E8400
HD 4870
2x2GB Kingston 800mhz DDR2

Is the motherboard dead now?

there is a way to reset the BIOS, I've done it in the past, but can't remember exactly. You can probably google "reset asus p5b BIOS" or something like that. It is something like a)turn off power from on/off button b) turn off power from PSU c) wait 5mins d) hold down power button while turning on PSU power and release when the POST screen comes up.

That's likely not it, exactly, but it's pretty close.

Also, depending on your BIOS version the board may not like that CPU. You may have to put in another older one and update BIOS, then put in this newer CPU.
