Does anybody know if you can use the X 4 PCIe slot on an Asus P5B-e plus for a second Grahpics card, to get support for three (or even 4) monitors?
And if so, can you still use the x1 PCIe slot as well?
Just to be clear, this is for a professional workstation, not for gaming. All that is required is suport for more than two monitors, and we don't want to go down the Matrox route - horribly noisy.
I have a nsty suspicion, though, that the chipset has only 20 PCIe lanes, and that using the x 4 for a second graphics card will disable the x1 Pcie slot.
