My usb keyboard and mouse work fine when plugged directly into the motherboard's rear usb ports, but they don't work at all and the system won't post when plugged into my Dell 2001fp. Strange thing is, I've had my keyboard and mouse plugged into the monitor for years with no problems, but then with the new motherboard it just stopped working.

Why would that be?
 
Does anything else work in the monitor's ports? Maybe double check the connection between it and the PC? Also, maybe plug it into another port on the PC.
