P5B Deluxe: missing fan speeds in latest BIOS?

I'm putting together my brand new system with an ASUS P5B Deluxe MB...

I fired it up, and checked the temps and fan speeds, all looked good. Then I got the latest BIOS - 1004 - from ASUS's site, and installed that. All went well, but now in the BIOS when I monitor the system, the case fan speeds don't show up; they just say N/A like for the ones that aren't hooked up. Before the BIOS flash, the case fans speeds showed up fine. Known issue? Anyone else see this? Any way to fix it? I don't want to revert back to the old BIOS, if that is even possible (because the web site says it "does not support roll back to older BIOS")

Also, the manual says that there are 5 or 6 case_fan headers on the MB, but only case_fans1..3 actually have the pins! I case see where the others were supposed to be; the label is still there and there are solder points, but the actual connectors are missing. It's not a huge deal, but I'm wondering if I got a bum board, or if, say, only the WiFi Deluxe gets them or something.
