hey guys,

went to flash my P5B-D bios to 0804... EZ Flash and afudos kept giving errors when reading from floppies (i tried maybe 5 diff brands, i dunno what was up), so i decided to give asus update a go...

i fresh booted, shut down most progs, and went to back up my bios just to make sure most things were working (?)... that went ok, so then i went to flash it finally with 0804 and it finished flashing, and hung as soon as it got to verifying... here's a pic:

here :(

so i've left it there hung cos im too scared to turn it off and find out that it's dead :/ but i'm hoping that since it wrote, but didn't verify, that it still might be written ok? or if not verfied, that it might not have stuck or something? i dunno :/

can i RMA it? this is absolutely stupid, EZFlash and afudos both screwed up, and cold booting with asus update running and nothing else also freezes...

what are my options?

thanks guys ,

hmm well problem solved i guess? i bit the bullet and restarted... it posted and said cmos checksum failed, i loaded default values and now the bios is supposedly 0804 in cpu-z... so i guess it worked :) (in a roundabout way)

still wondering why afudos and EZflash were so difficult to get to work (i tried ezflash with multiple floppies AND even a usb flash drive - it showed the rom, but couldn't read it for some reason)

anyone else have the same problems?
