p55 with Clarkdale CPU: Need a bios flash?

I ordered a Biostar T5 XE end of Nov and was thinking about just putting in the i530 for now.
Will the pc boot with that cpu? Or does it need a flash first? Their site lists it compatible with PCB 5.0 but I can't tell looking at the board which I have. Being a bit cautious, just didn't want to need another cpu just to flash the bios. I see now I have version 5.0 but their site also has a bios update listed 12/14 that says "Clarkdale" support. Since my board is older not sure. I emailed them.

You were smart to contact gigabyte. The 530 is so new that it won't be listed under "cpu support" on gigabyte's website.

Biostar emailed me and said it will boot just not recognize the CPU until after flash. So that's a good thing. I picked up my $99 i3 530 at MC.
