Just noticed on one of my suppliers price list they have some P55 motherboards listed which are

Asus P7P55D Approx $199
Asus P7P55D Deluxe Approx $299
Gigabyte P55-UD3R Approx $179
Gigabyte P55-UD5 Approx $289
Gigabyte P55-UD6 Approx $329
Gigabyte P55M-UD4 Approx $199

figured I post these seen as some people have been wondering on pricing

EDIT --- another supplier has listings for some of the intel brand boards, prices are around the same as above roughly starting at $150 upwards to $300-$350

Sigh. It's almost like they gauge the prices counting the drops in the near future. And they're probably right in that they'll reap (or rip?) from early adopters at the introduction, and later from pedestrians who'd naturally think $50~$100 price drops are a bargain.

Thanks for letting us know the info, OP.

Edit: Wait. Are those in Canadian dollars?

yea intel's basic board should be $100 at launch, with another one housing more features going for $150 at launch (in the US). frys already has them listed on shelfs though we dont have them in store yet lol

Thank you for clarification. That makes much more sense.

Even after considering introductory premium, P55 shouldn't really be more expensive than P45 or 790FX, IMO.

Seriously.

Mobo pricing seems to get worse & worse as the years i've been into hardware pass.

I knew these gougetastic prices would come, but it doesn't mean i can't be extremely unhappy with them. :|

Agreed completely. Motherboards are becoming more and more flashy and costly, yet it doesn't seem like users are having any better experience.

Those boards with dying network ports, dying USB ports, dying memory slots (or killing memory sticks), or mysteriously die themselves after a year of use.. Let alone other malfunctions under normal usage that I see regularly on this forum.
