I have just built my computer and it worked fine for 4 days, then I got the black screen at a boot up the next day
I have a Asus P4SGX -MX -UAYZ Mobo, celeron 2.4, 256 DDR, 450W PSU, 40gig HDD, no AGP vid card, no modem, no LAN. The system is only 1 week old, running win98se, all upgrades and virus protection.
Never been on the net.
When I boot up from cold, the green light is "on" on the mobo, everything is running - fans, HDD, CD, etc but monitor is black, green light on monitor at start then goes to flashing orange.
I have swapped monitor and all cables, checked fuse in PSU. I have checked all connections slowly. In fact I took the whole computer apart and reassembled it, but with no joy.
AND also, sorry, on cold boot up, I get one beep from internal speaker.
I have also disconnected power after boot for 15 secs or so, then connected but no success.
I would truly appreciate some help.
