I just purchased a P4S533 w/retail 1.8a processor.
Assuming I run this cpu at stock speed, am I going to have to make any jumper adjustments on the motherboard? I saw something in the manual about memory speed/bus speed. Is that something I must set?
The processor I got...is that black stuff on the bottom of the heatsink the heatsink compound? Silly question, but better safe than sorry. I'm used to seeing the thermal pads. This is my first pentium since my 300a (@450).
Thanks in advance for the help.

No, you do not have to make any jumper adjustments at all. That black stuff is what passes for a thermal compound - works fine.

Prepare to have your socks blown off going from a 450a to the Northwood! I own both, and the difference is stunning!
