P4S533 Onboard Lan Won't Work!

What would a post be if it didn't have something to do with the P4S533? I just put together my rig
with the aforementioned board, Samsung PC2700 and the WD 1200JB. It rocks. Only problem is that
my onboard ethernet doesn't work. It doesn't work in windows and it doesn't work in linux. Both
OS's recognize the sis900 chip and even load the driver. But no go. I have it enabled in the bios.
I have no idea what to do. I am currently running another card, so it's not the end of the world, but
I'd rather get it going.

By the way, is there any difference in latency between 10 base-T and 100? I am just using this to
connect to my router to my cable modem, so I never mush more than 1.5 megabits.

I know a lot of you are running this board. Advice from anyone who got the ethernet to work
would be supa.

For the record, I am running a 1.6a at 2.133 and my ram is at 4:6. (DDR400). It's amazing how
much quicker it feels than at 1.6 with the memory at DDR266.

No problem with my lan -- does the lan power indicator light up when system is turned on?

All cable modems are 10-T, not 100-T -- so if you are just connecting to a single cable modem you'll have no issue -- if you and a second computer you will be restricted on computer to computer connections.

Try to flash the latest BIOS -- make sure you flash the BIOS WITH the LAN support

Also, first check in your current BIOS to make sure that on-board LAN is NOT disabled.

If a flash and double check to make sure its enabled dosn't work, the port is defective.
