I had a Asus P3V4X that would never play right with a Creative Labs sound card because of the VIA chipset. Are there any issues with the SIS chipset of my "new" P4S533 and a Audigy sound card? Are they compatible? I'd like to move away from the on-board sound, it does not meet my needs. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean because of the VIA chipset, I have built more computers than I can remember with that chipset and always use the soundblaster lives, Even a P3V4X, Never had any problems that come to mind other than the Audigy's when you are working with music with programs like Cool Edit Pro, The Audigy doesn't seem to let me lay down clean tracks like the live does, I did build a P4S533 for a guy not to long ago and went with a Santa Cruz and he loves it and hasn't had a problem. One thing I don't like about the SoundBlasters is the size of the drivers

I'm running 3 P4-2.4ghz all using Audigy Xgamer sound cards with Win Xp Pro and no problems. All have 1 gig of DDR333 PC2700, Logitech Z-560 speakers, Geforce4 128meg video cards, 19 inch professional Viewsonic PF790. All have the Asus P4s533 with no problems at all.

I have built over 70 Pc's, mostly with SB live soundcards on Win2000 OS platforms, with no problems as well.

I prefer Win Xp auto detection on the Audigy soundcards than SB Live.

Both are good soundcards. The Live is real cheap, but with the Audigy2 soundcard out, the original Audigy's should be had cheap in the next month or so.
