Sorry for this dump question :-

I'm using P4PE.
When I transfer files (20+ GB) from a USB2.0 Ext HDD to my desktop,
I feel like the transfer rate is very much slower than what I aspect from USB2.0.

Quesions here :-
(1) Are all the USBs on P4PE mobo supporting USB2.0 by default ?
(2) Do I need to install USB2.0 driver in order to make them USB2.0 ?
(3) How to check out if those USB ports are 1.1 or 2.0 ?
(4) Currently I'm using Windows ME (will upgrade to XP soon). However, I cannot find USB2.0 driver for Win ME from the ASUS' mobo CD-ROM. Is there any USB2.0 drivers for Win ME ?

Thanks in advance. :)

I use the usb 2.0 on my Asus P4PE.

I have an external usb2.0 drive. USB2.0 is 40x faster than 1.1. Unbelievable difference. I usually transfer a a 650mb CD image in a about one minute. It would take almost an hour with usb1.1.

I dont think all the ports are usb2.0 - but not 100% sure.

Device manager listed all the "USB controllers" and "USB hubs"
WITHOUT the 2.0 number.

I think maybe it's due to driver problem ?!?

One more question here :-

Are all the 6 USB ports USB2.0 compatible ?

Thanks.

I believe all 6 ports are USB 2.0 on the P4PE. The support is built into the South Bridge (I believe) so every port should be USB 2.0. If the support was through a 3rd party chip then that may be a different story. Some motherboards need to have USB 2.0 enabled in BIOS before the OS will detect it. This is the case on my 4G4A+.
