P4PE- Inf driver & Intel Application accelerator??

Another newbie question about my P4PE mobo.

In my quest for more knowledge I came across a post in Toms hardware about a user who had problems with a slow system, plus the computer self booting and cold boot issues with a P4PE and 9700pro .

He was suggested to install the latest Intel INF driver and the Intel Application Accelerator and when he did it seemed to fix his problems.

My question is I will be installing an OEM Windows Home XP with SP1 onto my new computer all storage devices with be on IDE.

Do you recommend I update the INF driver and or install the Intel Application Accelerator after I install my OS or will doing this cause other probs??

Intall the updated inf's. I like IAA. It gives me a nice speed boost in Win2K on my 845PE board. Look at Anands i875 Canterwood article. The IAA driver for the i875 is not out yet. You can see the performance hit without it. I always use it on any i8xx build.

In one of the dozen or so 875 articles I read it said that there would be no more IAA for anything except for RAID functionality on the ICH5R. The new one is available on Intel's site, but it's only for the ICH5R and only if you're using RAID.
