:disgust:I have had this problem with an EPOX 8KHA board for some time. I found that the +5v (red) lead from my power supply to the Molex power connector on the motherboard was burned black at the connector. I couldn't replace it so I had to purchase a new power supply. Suddenly the booting problem disappeared; the problem I had with my video card not running unless I underclocked the cpu to 900mhz from the rated 1200mhz disappeared. I believe the problem is a design flaw with atx motherboards. The multi-pin power connector uses pins so small that they are only suitable for signals, not the high amps that are needed for current high speed CPUs. I think a good cleaning of the pins of the power socket on these boards may give a temporary improvement if they haven't burned yet. I use a product that I was using for high end audio connectors. It is called DeoxIT D5. It is made by CAIG laboratories. It is corrosive so you must remove all traces with a neutral cleaner like flux remover. This is my best guess as to what is going on with the Cold Boot Issue.
