Hi. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as I have with my Asus P4P800 Deluxe and Hitachi 80GB serial ATA harddrive. Works fine but I am unable to recover from stand-by mode. Always give me a blue screen kernel error. I had a ATA100 drive before and it works just fine when I put it back to confirm if the board is bad or not. Thank you for any suggestion.

Could be a bad sata cable. Check your connection again. Have you loaded the sata driver using F6 at the beginning of the windows installation? I would also check your hardrive jumpers again. I use only master-slave, not cable select.

Hi. I don't think there is a driver for onboard SATA controller since WinXP recognizes it just fine. Installation for the OS went fine. I was able to boot up my computer, use it until I put in stand-by mode. When I come back, hit the power button the wake up from standby, the harddrive made couple of clik-clik noise then a blue screen: kernel-inpage-error something like that. I don't know the exact error message now. I remove the drive and put it on my Asus P4C800-E board and installed WinXP. To my surprise, the stand-by option is gray out. It's not an option for me to use. It seems strange to me since I was able to use the stand-by mode with ATA100 drives in both computers.
