About 9 months ago i got a used asus p4p800-vm and intel 2.4c off of a fellow user here. About 1 month ago i purchased a used 6800LE from another user. Between those two times i had only ever run the onboard graphics on my system due to lack of funds (college student with no job at school)

However, once i put the card into my machine it was immediately evident that something was wrong, the card was artifacting in BIOS, so obviously it was a card issue and not a driver issue or anything. However since i had never had a card in the AGP port on this mobo before, i put the card into my friends machine and the exact same problem appeared.

I have since RMA-ed the card and it is due to be returned to me in the next day or so. What i am wondering is if it possible for my motherboard to be the source of this problem and not some sort of mysterious malady that struck the card between being pulled from the previous owner's system and then being placed into mine.

hey man 🙂

let me know how it works. all i can tell you is that it ran my 6800gt up until the time i sent it to you.

Now see, that is good to hear... i had deleted all the old PMs and couldnt remember who i bought the board from otherwise i would have asked you directly... definitely makes me feel better

lol, yeah, i saw the p4p800-vm in the thread title and i was like, "i had one of those ! " 😛

anyway, i think you'll be fine 🙂

if you weren't getting a signal i'd be more concerned.
