I have a P4P800 motherboard with a 3GHz/800MHz cpu. Everytime i turn on the computer i get the following error message:
"Overclocking failed! Please enter setup to re-configure your system."
I then have to enter the BIOS and choose exit and discard changes to be able to boot into wibndows.

I have not tired to overclock the cpu in any way, and even if it says in the BIOS that the speed is 3GHz, the computer only runs at 1,5GHz.

The memory modules i have is not on the ASUS compability list, and i wonder if this could be the reason?
The memory modules i have is two GEIL 256MB DDR PC3200 400MHz Ultra CL2.
It is written CL=2-6-3-3 on the memory modules.

If these modules should work, what settings should i have in the BIOS for them?
And what else could cause this problem?

The BIOS is version 1007.

I've heard of lots of problems with that Geil memory on other forums. Try setting MAM off and "Performance Mode" (I think that's what it's called) to AUTO. My P4P800 choked just like that when I set this setting to TURBO.

I'd also set my memory to Spd initially, then play with timings later. You can probably leave the MAM on, but the Turbo sets your memory timings to 2-2-2-5.

try 2.5-3-3-6 at 2.75vdimm

My Corsair needs that to run at overclocked speeds. Up to 415Mhz I can do turbo (2-2-2-5) but anything else is dead until I change.
