I have a P4P800-e deluxe board that will not run the USB at 2.0 from the onboard slots or off the supplied header. I installed a add-on card that will. Anyone have this problem? I checked the bios and it is right. Fresh install of Windows XP pro.
I've always had the same problem with my P4P800. I am running Windows XP SP2 with all current updates. The USBView program that comes with the Windows DDK shows that the Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller (UHCI) is the only recognized USB controller. UHCI is USB 1.1 full-speed. An EHCI controller would show up if the hardware could do USB 2.0 high-speed. The P4P800 is supposed to support USB 2.0 high-speed.
It's been a long time since I set the system up. The CD has a USB 2.0 driver on it, but when I run the install program, it checks my system and says that since I'm running Windows XP SP2, I don't need the ASUS USB 2.0 driver.
