I have a p4p800-e deluxe motherboard with ct-479 + pentium M 730 . 2x512 DDR 4800. I have weird issue with agp. here is the gist of whats going on.

1. i have tried 6600GT and 6200 (older nv43 version) - No boot, no post. (i did connect the 4pin molex)
2. i have tried 6800 ultra , ti200 , 5700 ultra. - boots and works just fine.

the cards that dont work in this machine works fine in another machine. I have changed bios, downloaded new intel drivers, no effect. From what i see, the native agp cards work fine. its the HSI thats giving trouble? not sure. any body know what i can look for?

Damn good question. I've had a P4P-800-e deluxe for a long time and it has strange problems with AGP cards. Figured I just had a flaky mobo, using last BIOS they made. Even tried increasing the AGP voltage.

I had a 5900 in it for months and suddenly, it would no longer post with that card. Reseating helped a couple times, then it just refused to post with it. I dropped in an old ATI 9200 and it's fine now. I put the 5900 into a different machine and it's been running fine for a month, gaming and all, WTH? LOL

I suspect the pins in the slot, I'm going to expect those very closely soon. I don't know how else to explain this.
