I have an antec SX1000II Series case with the 2 USB ports on the front of the case, I have the wires inside.. looks like ~8 connectors per wire. I looked in the case manual it says the front is a USB/1394 Port Cover. I checked the MB manual to see where to hook it up.

So I look into the MB manual and get 2 spots i'm unsure of...
the first says:
USB headers (10-1 pin USB_56, USB_78)
**NEVER connect a 1394 cable to the USB_56 or USB_78 connections. Doing so will damage the motherboard!

next is:
IEEE 1394 connectors (10-1 pin IEEE1394_2(orange))
**NEVER connect a USB cable to any of the IEEE 1394 (orange) connectors. Doing so will damage the motherboard!

due to the nice little warnings in the manul I wanted to make sure what to put where before I actually did anything.

so I have 2 wires.....do I have to follow the 1394 cable from the front put those in the (orange) pins and the other to USB_58 or USB_78???

or both to the USB_58 and USB_78 pins. cables don't seem labeled in a way I understand which would be for the 1394 pins (if either). and one that goes to the USB..do I hook it up to USB_58 or USB_78 or both?

yes i'm an extreme n00b at this front USB port connection stuff...

You should have a set of pin headers on the mobo for each. Use the USB ones. On the P4p800 I had, the header had a row of 5 pins and a row of 4. Depending on the case wiring, you may have connectros that fit these perfectly, or you may have 2 4-pin connectors. Just make sure you have the positive 5V wires in the right place on the headers. Otherwise, you'll get no power to the ports.

Also, sometimes on the cables one connector will have a Shield pin. That is for the 5 row header. Plug it there. Otherwise, just plug the 4pin connectors matching up the 5V+ wires with the location of the header ont he mobo.

I have 2 wires each with ~10 connectors I'm guessing 1 is for the 1934 connector in the front the other is for both USB ports in the front. is there an easy way to figure out which goes where? i'll try to get some images tonight if nobody can help.
