I have 256mg x2 pc3500 kington hyper x running at low timings. My p 2.4c is at 3.0 at 5/4. Anyways want to increase my memory and was thinking Corsair dual channel value ram Will there be a noticable difference in speed?
I would think so, since the 3500 gives you more headroom for better timings than the new ram would. Also, there is a quality difference, since HyperX is kingston's best, and that corsair is only value.
I would try and wait for a deal on 2x512 tccd dimms personally...
Yes, that is my worry. I could also buy two more 256 mb kingston hyperx but am not sure if the mb will support 4 sticks properly. Also am not totally sure that this is the same ram I bought 2 years ago. Don't want to spend too much, as I will likely want to do a total upgrade at one point.
