P4P800 - 2 CPU entries in Device Manager??

I have a 2.6c installed in this mobo. I noticed that in Device Manager / Processor, there are 2 entries for the CPU. I deleted them, but they keep coming back. Is it normal to have the 2 entries for the CPU?

Hyper Threading, yes it's normal

You can turn it off in the BIOS, if you want.

Thanks for the responses. My previous 1.6a CPU didn't have HT so now it makes sense. Glad it wasn't a problem to deal with, thanks again!

Yup, a HT newbee is me. The mobo is an Asus P4P800 which is working perfect with a 2.6c CPU and HyperX memory.

Same setup I'm using. What timings are you using with your HyperX? Right now I have it set for SPD but want to try 2-3-2.

I have it set for SPD right now. I want to run it at BIOS defaults for a while to be sure everything works ok.

Bought a couple of dual-xeon servers from Dell...looked in task manager and saw 4 CPUs...was like h3ll ya, Dell screwed up and gave us 4!

turned out, they were HT-enabled xeons
