p4m266/p4x266 vs. sis650/sis645

well my ECS l4s5mg motherboard died ($70 a while back at newegg). its the same as a shuttle m51n. its a sis650 , a sis 645 with part of a sis315 board built in.

anyways i went to fry's and bought a Shuttle mv42n ($64 at fry's, oddly $56 on outpost.com which fry's owns and would not price match) which is based on the p4m266 a p4x266 with savage4 core built in. its the same exact board as the ecs p4vmm2.

now , i've looked at benchmarks, and i'm not really sure which one i should keep once my ECS comes back from newegg RMA ina couple weeks.

for the most part i've seen both chipsets are generally on par or sometimes faster than the 845d. but i'm not sure which one is faster. keep in mind i have ddr266 memory only , and i cant run the sis650 at dd333 nor am i going to since i dont think its worth upgrading my ram. btw i am running a nvidia geforce 4 mx420 with both, its wierd the integrated chipset with agp slot is usually cheaper than getting the non integrated version since most places dont even sell that. these were basically the cheapest boards i could buy, and outside of the ECS dying seem to work well.

anyways, which would you keep? (my friends say ECS because it has a purple pcb, but well yeah i think they are just being dumb) the ECS has one more PCI slot, but i dont really use my slots outside of agp. The shuttle doesnt require ATX 12v , which could be an advantage if i wanted to put it in a book pc i suppose. it also can support sdram, but i probably will never use that feature.

anyways, since there are so many conflicting reviews i'd like you guys' opinions on which is faster, and which have the least problems also. some say the via is faster, some say the sis is faster (AT's reviews, btw dont look anything close to what other sites have, i'm not sure if its just the specific boards they used, but other sites have these two chipsets very close, but AT the sis 645 basically destroys the p4x266). anyways just want your opinions etc.
