I recently decided to try my hand at building my own system since every computer I'vebought always seemed to lack something...
Anyways, I decided on the Asus P4G8X as my motherboard.
The Asus P4G8X motherboard manual states that it supports "up to 4GB system memory using 184-pin unbuffered ECC or non-ECC PC2100/PC1600 DDR DIMMs".
Later on it has a recommended settings table:
_CPU_____FSBDDR DIMM type____Mem. Freq._
533MHz.............PC2100..................266MHz
400MHz.............PC1600..................200MHz
My question is that I ordered a "Samsung 512MB ECC Registered PC2700 333Mhz FSB" chip on the advice that it was more stable and which makes it better and that it will also allow for O/C, something that I MAY look into at some future point in time. Is this memory compatible with my motherboard? Thanks for any help!
