Anyone know if they will work together? I've heard rumours that the new bios will allow them to. I'm not planning on overclocking, only upgrading for the HT ability.
 
I had a 2.4C and wasnt able to go past 185fsb stable..I tried relaxed timings and .25 vcore increase (which no way it shoulda needed).
Several others have gotten about 170 ish for FSB. on a "B" chip.
I didnt try the newer BIOS as I wanted the CAS settings of the Tweaker! bios..
I just sold the board so I cant try it now..
 
So I could buy a 2.4c pop it in the p4g8x, and it will underclock to whatever. Is that what your saying?
 
Yep..but you might not be better than having a higher multi single thread P4 at higher mhz



2.4C is 12x200, so say 12x180fsb is only 2160mhz with HyperThreading, and DDR360
2.4B is 18x133, so say 18x167fsb is 3006mhz with no threading, and DDR334

Kind of a toss up..but you get the idea..
