That's a matter of opinion, both are good boards, I happen to feel the ASUS is more likely to be more stable. Overclocking options are excellent on both boards, do some research. ASUS has a history of reliability and stability right next to Intel. Now, they have a lot of overclocking options as well.
Really depends on if/how much you plan to overclock your P4. If more than 250+fsb, then I would suggest the Abit over the Asus.
The main thing to consider is when ocing a cpu is:
Asus = 3 phase power/overvolting+more vcore swings from idle to full load on the cpu (usually about 0.06).
Abit = 4 phase power/undervolting+less vcore swings from idle to full load on the cpu (usually about 0.03).
