Since I am watercooling my P4C800 I am not using a CPU fan.
Is there a way to get the "POST reporter" to stop giving the "CPU fan failed" message everytime I boot? I dont want to disable the post reporter completely I just need to tell it the absent CPU fan is ok....(or whatever) any ideas?
it's a minor thing.... but now it's becoming quite annoying

I just love this board... everything has setup soooooooo easy.

not sure if it can be disabled, could you put another fan on the cpu header if you have any fans in the system?

I didn't WANT to add a fan...but, that would be a fix of sorts. It might come to that. (or change the message to something "smart-ass-ish" :D
Come on guys now I just know someone else is watercooling their P4C800......

You could either disable the POST Reporter feature (see manual, page 4-24) or customize the default "CPU Fan Fail!" message to a blank audio clip (or "hello handsome :)" or whatever). Hope that helps, welcome to the Forums :)

thanks for the welcome mech......... I'd like to keep the POST reporter on, so I think I might wind up changing the message like you suggest.... I dont suppose there might be something (other than a fan) that I could plug onto the CPU fan pins ??? a jumper with a resistor???? better yet a light of some type????? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

No, the electrical connection for the "counter" requires an oscillation that would be difficult to mimic.
