p4 3.2
1016 bios
WD250 jb primary master
LITEON SOHW-812S dvd burner secondary master
Both are pata not using sata (disabled) or the raid edge connector.

I have a question about boot up time The above seems to take a long time to boot up.
After the total memory is display in the POST it take 20 seconds or so to detect the ide devices. after that it takes another 20-25 seconds to start loading the OS, it just sits with a blinking underline cursor.

Sometimes (a couple times since I built it 4 days ago) it did'nt find the harddrive and didn't have anything to boot too, I forgot the exact message, but hit the ctrl+alt+delete it found it the second time. Eveything is brand new.

Do these times seem normal to you or are they a bit long?

K, I have a P4P800 Deluxe so I figure it's about the same. Anyways, on my comp, I have a PATA WD1600JB as the primary master and and old 5400rpm 40GB, Seagate drive (for music, videos etc..) on the primary RAID channel. When I boot up with the RAID disabled, my boot time os low but, it increases alot with the RAID even enabled, with no drives on it. Anyways, I might have gotten a little away from what you're saying but, try disabling the RAID in the BIOS, and make sure the jumpers are set correctly. Hope this helps. :)

Same problem here, the motherboard seems to be stuck on "checking NVRAM" part

Before, it used to say "Checking NVRAM....OK" now it just continuously checks and bootup time from the IQ screen is aobut 20 seconds for me..

Anyone know how to fix this?
