Hi

guys Im building a machine for a friend, p4c @ 2.4
the pc mark 2002 results at stock speed with kingston pc3200 ram are : cpu: 5826 and ram:6533
by the way at boot it says "dual channel - linear mode" is there a different mode ? just wondering
are these any good ?
asking because my old xp2400 used to pull 5799-cpu and 3484-ram (pc266 ram) and I was expecting this one to do a bit better

please let me know

Thank you
Dan

I went and looked at the 2.4C scores for PCMark2002 that I have around. Most CPU scores are around 5900-5950 and memory scores (Mushkin PC3200 Level II and Corsair XMS3200c2) are around 7450-7600 so you're a little low on your CPU and off a bunch on your memory score. My memory scores are from Canterwood boards with PAT enabled or Springdale boards running the BIOS cheat to enable PAT. What board are you running and what are your BIOS settings for your memory?

yeah I know the ram is quite behind, because in all PCmarks Ive seen the ram is always higher than the cpu
and I know why - its kingston value ram pc3200, cas 3 and wont go better, at cas 2.5 it drops to pc2700 :(
but I was wondering if I could improve it somehow, I know its value, but this is just too much :(

the board is a p4p800 (i865pe)

I also wonder why the cpu score is a bit behind, is the memory holding it back ?

Thanks
Dan
