AGP mhz adjustable in bios :Q
1.5v - 1.8v P4NW vcore from bios.

ill be keeping an eye out for more info on this board - i already want one 😀

who said im not happy? 😉

i know lots of ppl are gonna love that 1/5 and 1/6 PCI divider 😀
the bios has tons of stuff ive never seen in an Asus bios before :Q

Still PC2100!!??
Another thing i notice is that the power supply thermal sensor is way down at the bottom of the board...weird...not like a lot of people will use it...but still...

according to what im reading - selectable mhz :Q

options: Auto or Manual
agp/pci mhz: 66/33 or 68/34 or 70/35 etc.

Hmmmmm, I want this! Ahhh, might have to return my 8IRXP.

LOL, same thing here. I got the GA-8IRXP board too but now i want this one 😉
waiting for price to drop a bit.

i am also considering GA-8IHXP or P4T533-E (I850e chipset) but think that i will go with this one. dont want to spend money on RDRAM but we will see.

its now available at Newegg for only $147.00 +shipping

that is not the one that i want. That is P4B533, what i want is P4b533-E

the one at newegg doesnt has onboard Lan, Raid, or IEEE.
that one at googlegear has all that. for $34 extra you get all that.......might go with that.

thanks

lol....why do you want the bare version ?

i would go with a fully loaded version. If you go with the bare version, then you will have to spend money on PCI cards......and those cards might hold you up on overclocking.
NIC are famous for holding up your overclocking if you dont lock the PCI/AGP bus.

My P4B533-E just shipped a few hours ago from Googlegear!!
You were discussing what the newegg version had onboard versus the googlegear version...the description of the newegg board says things like PC2700 and 4 banks when there are only 3 memory slots. Sounds rather uncertain. From what I have seen anyway, PC2700 is not officially supported. So I wouldn't trust the newegg board until they get things straight. They also say OEM at the end of the description.
Googlegear seemed very clear and it does say retail. Who knows what the model of the Newegg one really is...of course maybe Googlegear is wrong! I'll report what I actually get next week.

4 banks meaning 2 memory sticks with one bank on each side of the memory...so it actually only support 2 sticks of memory when using PC2700...which is also a limitation on all new Intel Chipset
edit[/] the reason for bare version because more stuff you don't use onboard will only hinders o/cing ability

gpanda, i too want the board that you got: P4B533-E (notice the E - means it is fully loaded). just waiting for price to come down a bit further ~160. it is already down to 178.
note that giga-byte GA-8IEXP is also out with the same exact features as this board and that is selling around $145. Hopefully Asus will go that much down too.

Probably 1 more week.

well, by that time, tell me how good this board is and how high it will overclock. Then i can decide between GA-8IEXP and P4B533-E. right now i am in favor of the GA board b/c of its low price (difference ~30)

OT Question: How good is the sound quality of this mother board "On board C-media 8738-MS 6-channel PCI Audio controller w/ SPDIF "?

Does it sound as good as an audigy? better? same? Thanks!

i have tried the onboard audio on a Asus P4B and an Abit BL7 - not sure exactly what kind they were tho.
they both sucked azz, completely, horrendously, horribly, total crap, complete chit! ..... get my point?

i flat out refuse to sell onboard audio to anyone - even my worst enemy 😉
