P4B533-E questions?

I just set up my P4B533-E with my northwood 2.26 and asus probe is showing a cpu fan speed of 1600 rpm, which is below tolerance level, my cpu temp is only 28C which is good, (dont even have artic silver yet), but is the fan speed normal? Also using the internal speaker for Post reporter is anoying, is there anyway to get it to work with a pci sound card (dont want to use the built in sound)? Thanks.

I have this board too with a 1.8a and my cpu fan speed was below tolerance level.

. . . and then i saw that i forgot to plug in the 2nd power connector to the bottom-left of the cpu. :Q

hope my stupidity is your answer.

Thanks, but no, I have that connected, though I guess I could plug in the ezplug as well (regular connector just incase you dont have a p4 powersupply), though asus probe is showing good voltage and my powersupply is more then capable of handling my setup (antec trueblue 480, truepower with blue led).

unpluged and repluged the 12volt connector, and fan is now at 2500 rpm (temperature is actualy up, gues that was the problem.
