Well I just bought my self a P4B333-E and 1.8a northwood. After finished putting it together I install win2k server and everything works fine all default and auto....... Then I started playing around with it, brings up the bus up to 133 and guess what?, the computer dont even post.... I raise all the voltage on the vcore and memory also vga, but still the same result. Well I am so very dissapointed with this setup... I build a few computer with 1.6a and at least they are up to 133 bus speed. Can somebody help me with some setup to overclock these baby ? I use 300W ps that came with antec 1030 case and visiontek geforce 2 gts video, that is it........ Any comments and ideas anyone ??

It could be your CPU or RAM.

My 1.6A will run at 133mhz at default voltage on my P4B533, and I'm using the 300w supply that came with my SX630.

1.6A @ 133 FSB = 2.13 GHz. 1.8A @ 133 FSB = 2.4 GHz. 2.13 is very easy to do. 2.4 is not. Will your 1.8A do 118 FSB? That would also be 2.13 GHz. If 133 FSB is your goal, your are better off with a 1.6A. How high did you go on the Vcore?

My memory is corsair 515MB ddr 3200, so I am pretty sure that memory is not the problem here. I really think that the bigges problem could be the power supply. I notice that the power supply that came with the case doesnt have the fan monitoring features, but the weird thing is, I bought the same case about 3 month ago and that one has a fan monitoring features. I raise the vcore up to 1.65 and stop there. I also raise the AGP, DDR and still nothing. I did some research yeserday in the forum, someone said that P4 Northwood pack date before april 2, 2002 is not a good overclockable. Well, mine is march 14. 2002.
Batch # L149842
Version # A78297-002
I ran Prime95 with the default speed to burn in the processor and it is working good with max temp of 42C. Hopefully I can get it up there somewhere later on today. One more question.... I read the agp/pci table in the manual, it says that if the i raise the cpu bus to 125 the agp and pci speed will be underclocked..... is this right ??

Thanks

Try going to 1.7 Vcore. You don't need to raise AGP and DDR voltage. The 533-E should be able to set the PCI/AGP @ 33/66 independent from the FSB speed.

I sure will try. So the AGP/PCI clock on the bios is to lock the AGP/PCI ?? I am scared to tuch that thing..... So then basicaly if I cannot post at 133mhz cpu bus, I can just set the agp/pci to 66.66/33.33 and brings down the CPU bus one by one, and not worrying about my AGP and PCI bus being to high ?? if this si right it's pretty cool... =) Well....... Right now actualy I am running 125 cpu bus, 1.625 Vcore and testing Prime95 (about 30minutes now). Temp is 47C..... I'll see what more I can do...........

Yes, it is. Many i845x and i850 boards have this capability. Makes FSB overclocking much easier than it used to be. Bump that Vcore up and you may get closer to 133 FSB.
