Ok i'm a newb how to I update my Asus bios with winxp? I have aflash.exe and 1007.awd on a disk but how do I access DOS to put it all together?

Isn't easier to just use the EZ flash supplied on the disk.I used my MSI board with their windows bios update and always worked perfectly.I got flash happy there for a bit it was so easy😀

😱 crazy,I had to dowload a utility for the MSI.I figured the Asus worked the same but I did see it in the bios and thought nothing of it.I have 1006 bios and read it worked good so I didn't bother downloading 1007.The MSI flash never needed a floppy.Just run the utility it flashes and reboots.I guess you still have to use the floppy with the update with the Asus.

how'd you get your ram set up so high? my ram won't go into windows when i do the #6 jumper and set it at 2:3 @ 155 fsb, it is a little high... so i set it back to normal 1:1, a little underclocked but not too bad.

You mean 3:4,if you have the P4B533 mobo then 1:1 will be 3:4 in the bios and 4:3 will be 1:1 .Are you trying to boot up at 155fsb at 3:4?.You might not be able to handle it at that high without trying to raise your voltage, don't go past 1.7 volts max.At 150FSB at 3:4 is 400DDR,you can do it😀

it depends on how good of memory you have.
2 sticks aint gonna run at all.

the motherboard chipset is gonna need some better cooling beyond 400ddr too.

I forgot to mention with the dip switch hack 3:4.You should be able to do pretty good and your memory could be holding you back.
