P45 vs. x48

I've seen a few people mention they will wait for the P45 chipset. Can someone please tell me what that offers over the x48?

It is on a 65nm process rather than 90nm so lower power consumption.

p35--> x38 is being updated to p45--> x48. dropping to a 65nm process.

ONLY P45 IS 65NM

The X48 is actually a rebinned X38, still 90nm.

ahh, didn't know that. what is the advantage of x48 over x38?

also p45 supports dual x8 pci-E for true crossfire instead of x16 & x4

The benefit is that it's rebinned, that's about it, it's been known to clock slightly higher.

Also, most X3/48 have dual 8x.

Crazy, I can't seem to find any info regarding release dates for P45. I'm almost ready to buy a new board (was looking at the Maximum Formula), but if P45 is to be released soon, I might wait... anyone?

The notes I saw about the boards from CeBIT that went up this week seemed to be late Q2.
