When you buy a retail p4 they come with the standard intel heatsink/fan. Do you need thermal grease with this install? The bottom of the heatsink has some gooey stuff on it.

i personally ALWAYS clean off the old therm paste and apply new anytime i install a pccr

cant go wrong by putting therm paste on.. it is possible that the old stuff on there doesnt cover everything and will eventually cause ur pccr to crack

better safe than sorry

If you are not planning to overclock, the stuff on the heatsink is fine.

yeah the stock heatsink will be just fine. personally i add thermal paste but its really not necessary with the stock p4 heatsink.
