I built this system for my father-in-law about 2+ years ago. Worked fine, no problems reported by him. Then he calls me to to tell me that it is not working. His monitor has "No Signal" on it.

So, I picked up the machine brought it home and plugged it in. Sure enough, when you power it on, the CPU HS fan will spin, intake fan spins, and PS fan is going, but that's it.

This particular Epox MB has the POST LED Diag onboard and it does not light up at all and I get no video signal. I inspected the board and best I can tell, I don't see any visible damage. Very strange. Any thoughts?

You can try the drill:

1. Replace CMOS battery
2. Reset CMOS.
3. Check PSU with a PSU tester.
4. Replace Video card with a known working card
5. Reseat CPU

1 being the most likely cause.

These boards have GSA caps that are prone to failure at this age.

Let us know what you find. :Q

Replaced CMOS battery, no luck. Working on getting another Power Supply. Also, this uses the on-board video, no
additional video card installed.

What is GSA cap??

Ok, well, took the computer to a local shop and they tested the PSU and it tested fine. So now it's either MB or CPU I suppose.
Any recommendations? New MB? Is there a good/cheap P4 MB with integrated video like my Epox?
