I was hoping someone could tell me if this setup would bottleneck really badly. I'm going to buy this 9600 pro next week. Just thought I would ask, so I know what I'm getting myself into.

Reason I'm getting this card. Is so I'll be able to play doom 3. Obviously I won't be able to play it at a very high resolution. But none the less, I want to play it. :)

Any input would be appreciated. If anyone has this exact setup, please post how it runs. :)

Thanks, Ruckas-

Well for one your P4 is the willamette core and that already hurts you I guess...

But if you want this card for Doom3 do just that - wait for doom3 and then buy a card that will let you play it at a good resolution...and who knows you may get the 9600pro but it'll be cheaper down the road

Damn it. Ecost was selling the 9600 pro for $167.99 yesterday. I just checked it. And it's up to $176.99. Man that's so annoying. Plus all the 9500's went up like $10-$20 bucks.

Sigh..Wtf?

wellim guessing, if you can bare to view the res, you could probbably do 800X600 medium settings at 30 - 40 fps, or
640X480 highest settings at 30 - 40 fps, but thats all that im guessing, however, they claim that it will be playable on a gf2 mx when it is done, so if that holds true and they optimize good, you could probably get away with 1024X768 highest settings at 30 fps, it all depends, right now a 9000 will get about 25 fps at 1024X768 medium, but that is the very, very, un-optimized version.
