P4 simple question S478

erm.. someone asked me why there is a hole small hole in the heatsink
plate on the top of their P4 (S478).. and I don't know the answer.
Is it ok is some AS paste gets in the hole?
Anyone?

It's basically just there for ease of packaging (heat expansion, etc...) Yes, it's ok if you get a little AS in there.

The small hole in the top allows gas to escape during the curing process of the CPU. Yes it is o.k. to get AS in there.
