Heya....I am just building my first PC & have some questions:
First off I have a P4 1.5g 423 pin & a Asus P4T mobo.
In my mobo book it said to make sure you set your bus frequency & multiple for the processor. Then it said socket 423 processors provide internal thermal sensing so that a socket mounted thermal resistor is not needed.
Is the L2 cache built into the CPU?
Also, is it alright if I got some of the thermal solution on the other areas of the CPU? See this pic, where the arrows are pointing:

When I relifted the HS off the CPU I think a small bit of paste fell onto the second outer part, I tried to scrape it off, but there is still some on there as it has holes & stuff & it go onto the first outer part from just being pushed down with the HS.
