NO, the heatsinks have some thermal tape on the bottom of them, your better off getting an 'aftermarket' tube of thermal paste and removing the Intel thermal pad and using the paste...

The thermal pad and stock cooling is penty sufficient to run at stock speed...Are you planning on ocing??? If so then who cares you already voided the warranty and likely will need better ocing if you want to push it to its limit. (reasonable vcore that is)

I think 3.0 and up come with a copper core aluminum HS and a tube of thermal grease. 2.8 and down are aluminum with the pad.

No, I'm not going to overclock so I'll be fine with the thermal pad & stock HSF.
