I have a 2.0ghz northwood Pentium 4 and I want to overclock it. I did have it at 2.67ghz overclocked, but it was not able to run prime95 for more than 2 minutes without crashing. I had I clocked like this for a while and my system was quite stable. After I had problems with prime95 I dropped it down to 2.0ghz. (I had the chip @ 2.67ghz from the day I built my system). When I started running it at a lower clock speed I didn?t notice my pc running much slower. I have used my system like this for a while and I want to overclock it again. I can get to about 2.4ghz and run prime stable but it seems like my graphics get weird. I experience weird tearing effect mostly in game menus and sometimes graphical issues in game. However this seems to happen only at some speeds. If my processor is running at 2.67ghz it doesn?t seem to have graphics problems. Also when I clock my chip @ 2.67 my power supply is obviously working much harder. If I feel the rear fan the air is much hotter tan normal. Wondering if anyone has ever had problems like this when overclocking. Should I be concerned about power (undersupplying my components). Any advice would help.
