Hey guys, a little old schooler needs some help with upgrading 3 systems. Here's the config. I'm curious if the PC2100 (Micron) will work with a 533MHz FSB CPU? And which CPU do you think is optimal for my board/ram combo? I'm thinking 2.8's. Thanks.

PC1
Intel P4 1.6GHz (o/c 1.9GHz)
512x2 PC2700 ((166 MHz), 512 MBytes, SpecTek Incorporated, Corsair i think)
ABIT BG7
Upgrade to: 2.8GHz 533FSB

PC2
Intel Celeron 2.2GHz
256x2 PC2100 (PC2100 (133 MHz), 256 MBytes, Micron Technology)
ECS L4VXA2 (Fry's Combo)
Upgrade to: 2.8GHz 533FSB

PC3
Intel Celeron 2.4GHz
512x1 PC3200 (mushkin SP3200 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400)
Shuttle SS56G XPC
Upgrade to: 2.8GHz 533FSB

Memory speed usually a function of the motherboard. Whatever the motherboard supports. Not very dependent on the processor.

Yes, PC-2100 = 533MHz FSB

Abit BG7 & 2.8 (533 - Northwood) = Probably

ECS L4VXA2 & 2.8 (533 - Northwood) = Yes, up to 3.06 (533)

Shuttle SS56G XPC & 2.8 (533) = Yes, up to 3.4 (800) - Northwood or Prescott

Make sure you have them all flashed with the current BIOS updates.
