I was told that the p4 motherboards are usung a different form factor and that they do not fit into ATX cases, is this true???
Also, are the p4 motherboards using rambus only, that is what I have been told on the Asus boards??????

The P4 chipsets are only capable of using RDRAM. There are currently no SDRAM or DDR SDRAM solutions for Pentium 4s.

Pentium 4 motherboards are ATX 2.03 form factor. They require special holes on the motherboard tray to support the huge CPU heatsink/fans. Also part of the ATX 2.03 specification is a special power supply that has an extra 12volt power plug that goes directly to the motherboard.

The ASUS P4T motherboard ships with a special tray that you can mount on your existing case to provide those special holes needed to support the heatsink. That way you can keep your old case, but you will need a new power supply that has the additional plug.

Nothing you can do about RDRAM though....you will have to buy some, unless you think the 128MB of RDRAM bundled retail Pentium 4 processors is enough.
