Which type motherboard performs better, one that uses DDR or Rdram memory. Also, between the two types of DDR 266Mhz and 333Mhz which one is better. It would seem that of course the 333Mhz is better. Are the both able to O/C well? And is the performance much different. There seems to be many different combinations of P4 boards, that it's hard to tell which is which and how they perform compared to the other chipsets. Can someone spell it out for me.

Thanks,
KK

I memory we are looking for the most bandwidth. When Rambus memory was first released it was 5 to 6 times more expensive than sdram. Things have changed and now they are both about the same cost. Compare ddr 2700 to rambus 800 on pricewatch for an exact comparison.
On Tomshardware the mb with ddr slow down at about 2.4 g. The Rambus just keeps on going.
So with the price question out of the way I believe the direction is obvious.
This is why I just ordered a P4t-e, a 1.6 Northwood with 256k Rambus. Hopefully this mb and ram can take me to 3.0g with another cpu in about 18 months. Thanks, DEE
