P4 motherboard with lots of features?

Well, due to recent information about the Asus P4T-E, I've decided not to get it. Could someone tell me some other motherboards which are RDRAM based and have the same stability as the Asus board and lots of overclocking potential? I'm also interested in a board with lots of features such as ATA-133 and USB 2.0 ports.

There are no "Dragon" type 850 boards out yet unfortunately. The best 850 board out today is Abit TH7II. It's the best overclocking NW Board available. I will mention that at CeBit, Soyo has announced they will be announcing they're P4I RAPTOR. Which looks like a P4I Dragon, except that it uses 850😀😀😛. If you would like me to dig up the press release I can (It was at AT). Just LMK

Go DDR, the P4B266 in all it's versions has onboard 6 channel sound, USB 2.0, onboard LAN, and onboard RAID.

My board just has the sound and USB 2.0.

Currently my 1.8A is running at 2.4Ghz and my ram is at around 350Mhz DDR (PC2700+), you will be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and RDRAM.

I don't like RDRAM, I don't like you have to buy it in pairs, and I don't like the fact it won't overclock as well. I don't know why all the sudden people are warming up to it, up until a month or two ago it was the bastard child castout of the DIY community (still is to me).

Did you see what I just said? Samsung/Corsair PC800 can hit PC1066 speeds, that's a 25% increase (and you might get more!!)!!!

That would be close compared to a PC1066+533fsb setup I admit. But, still RDRAM is the memory of the future IMO. I would encourage you Imgod2u, to stick with your decision on RDRAM.

The Gigabyte GA-8ITXR is a very good RDRAM based board with Raid and overclocks very well. The Intel D850MVSE has USB 2.0 but no overclocking. I still recommend the Asus P4T-E (ICS) over the Abit TH7-II when it comes overall system stability and performance. You can always add a ATA133 and USB 2.0 card. However, if you want to ensure overclocking potential then a DDR based i845 or SIS645 based board is the best option at this time. It is still a hit or miss situation in getting RDRAM memory that will overclock properly.

Ask people with new Samsung or Corsair RDRAm with any CPU that can reach 133fsb. I bet every single one of them that is using Abit TH7II (or a board that can for certain hit 133fsb) will say that they can hit PC1066 speeds.

I'm looking to get to 3 GHz with watercooling. In order to reach that with DDR SDRAM, I'd have to overclock the DDR SDRAM a lot. At that high speed, the memory does become quite a bottleneck, so it's better to have RDRAM that'll run slightly out of spec than hope that DDR SDRAM will run severely out of spec (RDRAM with a 3/4 memory divider with a 2.0 GHz P4 will reach 3 GHz with the RDRAM running at 900MHz, which is perfectly reasonable). The best thing is, when faster (PC1200) memory comes, out, I don't need to switch anything except the memory and change the memory divider.

That's quite a project. It'd be cool for someone on the form,s to attempt that (don't think anyone has yet). I agree, and good luck!

Ata 133 is nothing to rave about. My epox board has it, and I can't tell the difference between it and ata 100. USB 2.0? My epox board has a total of 6 usb ports; 2 on the board, 2 off the usb cable, and 2 on the front of the case. If you must use rdram, I would go with abit or asus.

P4 board using RDRAM with "features"?
You won't find anything right now.
ATA/133 (UDMA/133) ... it's over hyped and is really a "marketing ply"
USB 2.0 ... hmm ....
nothing i850 (RDRAM) and USB 2.0 yet.
USB 2.0 add in cards aren't that much
NEW RDRAM based boards should be around soon
(Intel is in their big show right now IDF)
