I have been planning to upgrade to an XP/nforce2 system but now I'm looking into a P4 1.8a for overclocking.

I've been out of the loop on P4 motherboards. Basically, this is what I need suggections on:

What is the best m/b to get for a p4 1.8a for overclocking and also for future CPU upgrades?

thanks

I like the Gigabyte boards. You may want to check out the sticky thread. If you can wait I would get a Granit Bay board. For the 1.8 you don't need it but if you plan on upgrading your CPU any time soon it would be a wise decision.

Stick to your original plan and go NForce2 and AMD.

I was Die-Hard AMD and decided to try Intel.
picked myself up a 1.8A and EPoX 4PEA+ board... runs like a charm at 2.7 GHz but barely out-paces my stock speed XP1800+ in benchmarks.

Needless to say I am not impressed with this thing's CPU horsepower.

clock for clock AMD totally owns. I am going to be going AMD soon and doing something with this current system..... who knows..

Get the NForce2 and XP CPU!

Glad I waited on my purchase as well.

Yield, AMD much better than the P4 even if its a 2.4 on a ASUS PE?

Maybe nforce2 is the way to go afterall.
