Hi it's been a while since I last upgraded so I'm a little confused with today's lastest PC products.

I'm going for a P4 setup. I've been hearing good comments about the ASUS P4B533-E with DDR. I'ts the CPU FSB that I'm confused about and the memory. First with the CPU. I can get a P4 2.2Ghz 512k 400FSB S478 CPU or the P4 2.26Ghz 512k 533FSB S478 CPU. Which do I go for, the 400FSB or the 533FSB CPU? is there a huge difference in performance???

Now with the memory. I've got a choice of getting these 3 types (which is the better),
256MB DDR PC2100, CAS2
256MB DDR PC2700, 333Mhz
Kingston 256MB PC2700 333MHz CAS2.5

Which should I go for???

Thanks.

Are you a big Intel nut? Otherwise I might suggest getting the P4S533, or wait untill you can order the new sis 648 chipset Asus P4S8X (or somethin). With the SIS chipset you can have ddr 400 memory.

As far as CPU, it matters what you are going to do with it, if you plan on over clocking, I would go with the 2.2ghz. It has a more promising high end overclock rate. Otherwise if you do not overclock I would suggest the 2.26.

Memory is a big thing, latency timing for the memory can cripple your benchmarks. I would suggest getting Mushkin Level 2 if you plan on keeping your current setup. But if you plan to go with a SiS, or VIA chipset, then I would get Corsair XMS 3000 or 3200.
