Trying to economize. Anybody know if its worth it to buy a P4 motherboard with 478 pin , which uses my very good sdram PC133.

Will it be able to overclock with sdram in a stable condition. Buying a NorthWood P4 1.6a or 1.8a very soon.

Any good motherboard experience (or articles) with sdram memory.

Thanks

i hate to tell you, but there is no such thing as a good p4 mobo that uses sdram

for a p4 to perform at all it needs either ddr or rambus

ASUS P4B.

If you have no problem selling your motherboard later (for maybe a small loss), then it's a good upgrade to go with, but realize, as already mentioned, it will strangle a lot of your performance. You will want to move to ddr or rdram shortly after. But you could use this system until ddr/rdram prices drop to more reasonable levels in the meantime... sell it and get the asus P4B266 or P4TE or similiar... if you can spring for a ddr/rdram system if you just wait a bit, I'd probably go that route--if the wait wasn't too long and your current system would get you by.

Thanks, Boonesmi and subhuman for your comments. I think I'll wait for some more monies and go to ddr/rdram. Asus is releasing some new motherboards with SIS 645dx chipset and DDR333. I want to purchase a motherboard that will last me 6 months to a year.

I running an o/c P3-600 @ 840MHZ. I guess I will wait.

Thanks again for your advice and comments.
