I'm planning on upgrading to a p4 with the 533 mhz fsb, can I use the pc2100 ddr i currently have? Or am i required to go with ddr333 to take advantage of the 533 fsb?

It depends on the motherboard you purchase. If the board is based on the 845e chipset the board supports DDR266. If you get a 845PE then you can use DDR333. I'm a little confused about the whole DDR w/533FSB support. I think you can use a motherboard and ddr266 memory with a CPU running a 533FSB. I think you'll need dual DDR266, PC1066RDRAM or higher to take advantage of the higher clocked P4's.

You could look in to the lastest E2705 chipset motherboards that support dual 266ddr ram.

I currently use a Giga-byte 8IHXP i850e chipset (PC1066) motherboard and love it.
Good Luck!

You can use the PC2100 you have. PC2700 would be a bit faster, but the 2100 will work fine. If the 2100 is good quality, it may even run @ 2700.

Depends on your motherboard supports DDR 333 or not.
What motherboard do you have?

I built two Asus P4PEs recently with 2.4/533 processors. One shipped with bad RAM, so I swapped in a stick of my Crucial pc2100- no problems, ran fine.
Haven't tweaked it with the replacement corsair 3200 memory yet, though...
